"The Colorful Mosaic of Koytendag": Early and mass flowering of ephemeroids recorded

According to the latest phenological monitoring data from the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Turkmenistan's nature has awakened 15 days earlier than usual this year. An abnormally mild winter has adjusted natural rhythms: primroses, which typically bloom in succession, have blossomed almost simultaneously this season. This rare phenomenon has transformed the slopes of Koytendag into a true "colorful mosaic," where the golden scatters of Gagea (Yellow Star-of-Bethlehem) sit alongside the delicate purple petals of Primula fedtschenkoi and vibrant crocuses.

Ephemeroids are unique "sprinter" plants that rush to complete their life cycle in just a few weeks while the soil is still saturated with spring moisture. This year’s early warming has allowed residents and visitors of the mountain region to witness a rare sight: the mass flowering of species usually separated by time, set against the backdrop of Koytendag's still snow-capped peaks.
