Scientists confirm: A 3-minute walk in nature is enough to restore the brain

A new study by an international team of scientists has proven that even a short stay in nature can fundamentally improve the functioning of the human brain. According to the findings published in the journal Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, the natural environment effectively reduces mental tension, triggering recovery processes.

Researchers have termed this phenomenon the "cascade regularity." The study established that it is much easier for the brain to process natural images than the chaotic and fragmented information flow of an urban environment. As a result, stress levels decrease, and heart rate and breathing normalize. Activity in brain regions responsible for anxiety drops, and attention shifts into a state of rest.

The key takeaway from the scientists: the positive effect begins to manifest as early as the third minute of the walk.
