Public participation in Turkmenistan's NDC 3.0 update process discussed in Ashgabat
On December 22, 2025, the Climate Dialogue titled "Inclusive Future: Developing a Plan for Public and Women's Participation in Turkmenistan's NDC 3.0" took place. The event was organized by the "Young Naturalist" public organization in cooperation with the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme).
NDC 3.0 is the country's revised Nationally Determined Contribution, which serves as a national climate action plan under the Paris Agreement.

During the meeting, climate analysts and UNDP project specialists, together with experts and SDG Ambassadors, discussed the social and gender aspects of climate change. The collaboration resulted in drafting the foundations of a Roadmap for the systematic involvement of women and youth in the implementation and monitoring process of NDC 3.0.

"This dialogue allowed us to join forces with the UNDP to create inclusive mechanisms in climate policy. We strive to ensure that the experience of women and the energy of youth become an integral part of national plans. NDC 3.0 must reflect the interests of the entire society to achieve a sustainable future," noted Leyli Shikhmadova, Chairperson of the "Young Naturalist" public organization.
The meeting, held at the "Ynamly Kepil" coworking center, brought together about 30 participants from various sectors, including members of the organization.
