💧 More than 35 billion cubic meters of water directed into the Caspian Sea in recent years

According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan, a total of over 35 billion cubic meters of water has entered the reservoir over the past two and a half years.

More than half of this volume—approximately 17 billion cubic meters—was successfully directed into the sea in 2024, thanks to the effective management of floodwaters. Since the beginning of this year, the inflow into the Caspian has already reached 6.16 billion cubic meters.

Protecting the marine ecosystem is inextricably linked to fostering a culture of water conservation on land. For instance, the implementation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems in the agricultural sector of the Caspian region saved 12.8 million cubic meters of water last year alone. This year, the scale of these innovative approaches continues to expand.

Such effective water resource management measures are of crucial importance for preserving the biodiversity of the Caspian Sea and maintaining the ecological balance throughout the entire region.
