🌊 Balkan velayat hosts seminar on ecology and climate change
On the occasion of International Children’s Day, an educational seminar dedicated to ecology and climate change was held at the “Ish Nokady” coworking space in the city of Turkmenbashi. The event was jointly organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the NGO “Young Naturalist”. The meeting brought together local eco-volunteers, representatives of the velayat and city hyakimliks, as well as active youth.

The session took place within the framework of a regional project aimed at protecting the Caspian Sea from waste and plastic products. The main objective of the meeting was to raise the environmental awareness of young people and preserve the purity of the Caspian ecosystem. In addition, the participants were introduced to the regional UNDP programme “Climate Box,” which is aimed at developing climate education.

During the seminar, important topics such as the sustainable use of natural resources and effective management of industrial and domestic waste were discussed. The young participants watched videos focused on nature conservation in the country and explored ways to contribute to ecological volunteer initiatives.

Such events are of great importance for building an environmental culture in the region and broadly engaging youth in environmental protection projects.
