Efforts to restore rare turtle populations underway in the Amazon
In the Brazilian Amazon, over 1,500 hatchlings of rare turtle species have been released into their natural habitat in the Rio Negro. The event, held in Jaú National Park, is part of a long-term program dedicated to restoring the populations of species currently threatened with extinction.
The project was implemented with the active participation of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), the ICMBio biodiversity agency, and local communities. Experts emphasize that such initiatives play a key role in the long-term preservation of the region's ecosystem and biological diversity.
