Britain’s Nature in Focus: BWPA-2026 Winners Announced
The organizers of the prestigious British Wildlife Photography Awards have announced the results of the annual BWPA-2026 competition. This year, the jury selected the finest shots from over 12,000 entries, capturing the immense diversity of the United Kingdom’s flora and fauna across 11 thematic categories. The grand title of "British Wildlife Photographer of the Year" was awarded to Paul Hobson. His triumphant black-and-white photograph was captured at the bottom of an ordinary pond in Sheffield. The star of the frame is a common toad; thanks to a unique "underwater" perspective, the familiar amphibian appears to the audience in a completely different, almost mystical light. The organizers noted that the competition continues to inspire the exploration of the natural world and have already announced that entries are now open for the 2027 awards.
