A new life for things: "Young naturalist" held an eco-çontest in Ashgabat
On June 14, 2024, the French Institute hosted an exhibition-contest of products made from recycled materials, organized by the Public Organization "Young Naturalist" and the "Design Plus" creative association. The event aimed to raise awareness about waste issues and demonstrate the possibilities of its reuse.
Around 50 participants from all over Turkmenistan presented original works made of plastic, cardboard, paper, and textiles. An expert jury selected winners in several categories: for the most original idea, creativity, functionality, contribution to heritage preservation, and the audience choice award. Authors of the best works received diplomas and prizes, while all other contestants were awarded certificates of participation.
"The great interest in this contest proves that our citizens care about the environment and are ready to take a creative approach to protecting nature," noted Leyli Shyhmedova, Chairperson of "Young Naturalist". The organizers also thanked the French Institute for its support and for providing the venue.
